|Butter||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Granulated brown sugar/Maple sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs), powdered|
|Vanilla/Any other flavoring||1 Teaspoon|
1.Cream the butter until very soft, stir in the sugar and the flavoring.
2.Set in a cool place until required for use.
3.A grating of lemon-rind or nutmeg, or a sprinkle of powdered cinnamon may be used instead of the vanilla.
4.Cream or milk may be added, with more sugar to make more sauce.
5.Serve sauce with a hot pudding
