|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Egg yolks||3 , slightly beaten|
|Boiling water||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
Cream the butter and beat in the sugar until fluffy.
Gradually add the egg yolks, blending well.
Very gradually add the boiling water while stirring.
Turn mixture into the top of a double boiler; stir and cook over simmering water until thickened.
Remove from heat and blend in the extract.
