Tomato Meat Sauce

Ingredients
  Olive oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Beef chuck 1⁄2 Pound
  Pork shoulder 1⁄2 Pound
  Canned tomatoes with liquid 7 Cup (112 tbs), sieved
  Salt 1 Tablespoon
  Bay leaf 1
  Tomato paste 6 Ounce (1 Can)
Directions

Heat the olive oil in a saucepot.
Add onion and cook until lightly browned.
Put the meat into saucepot and brown on all sides.
Stir in tomatoes and salt.
Add bay leaf.
Cover; simmer about 2 1/2 hours.
Mix tomato paste into sauce.
Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 2 hours, or until thickened.
If sauce becomes too thick, add 1/2 cup water.
Remove meat and bay leaf from sauce.
Serve sauce over cooked spaghetti
