Quail In Wine-Herb Sauce
|Onion||1 Large, sliced|
|Smoked bacon slices||2 , diced|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), crushed|
|Canned sliced mushrooms||4 Ounce (Drained)|
|Thyme leaf||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Beef broth||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dry white wine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped parsley||1 Tablespoon|
Coat quail with a mixture of the flour, salt and pepper.
Place onion slices in crock pot; top with quail.
Cover quail with diced bacon.
Add remaining ingredients except parsley.
Cover and cook on low setting for 7 to 9 hours.
Remove quail to a heated platter and sprinkle with parsley.
Thicken sauce, if desired, and spoon over quail.
