Chicken Burgers With Herbed Yogurt Sauce
|Lean ground chicken breast||1 Pound|
|Egg whites/1 whole egg||2|
|Whole wheat/Whole wheat breadcrumbs||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Dried oregano||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Grated lemon peel||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic||2 Clove (10 gm), minced|
|Yoghurt cheese/Extra-thick yogurt 250 milliliter||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chopped parsley/Mint / dill / cilantro / a combination||2 Tablespoon|
|Hot red pepper sauce||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Salt||To Taste, minced|
|Pepper||To Taste, minced|
|Shredded lettuce||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
In large bowl, combine chicken, egg whites, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, oregano, paprika, lemon peel and garlic.
Knead together well.
Shape into 6 burgers about 1/2 inch/1 cm thick.
To make sauce, in small bowl, combine yogurt cheese, herbs, hot pepper sauce, garlic, salt and pepper.
Grill burgers for 5 to 7 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
To assemble, cut open one end of each pita to form pocket.
Fit a burger and some lettuce into each pita and drizzle with sauce.
