Pork With Sweet And Pungent Sauce

The Pork with Sweet and Pungent sauce is an extremely easy dish to put together. The marinated pork is the highlight of the Pork With Sweet And Pungent Sauce dish.   Pork shoulder 1 Pound
  Soy sauce 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Star anise 2 Clove (10 gm)
  Brown sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Chicken stock 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Carrot 1
  Red pepper/Green pepper 1 Small
  Pineapple rings 4
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vinegar 2 Tablespoon
  Very finely chopped ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm)
  Tomato paste 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Dry sherry 1 Tablespoon
  Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon

Cut pork into long thin strips.
Mix marinade of soy sauce, star anise, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and the chicken stock.
Marinate the pork for about 2 hours.
Place the pork and marinade in a saucepan, bring to the boil, stirring and simmer for 20 minutes and drain.
Cut the carrot and pepper into wedges, drop into a pan of boiling water and simmer for 5 minutes.
Cut pineapple rings into eighths.
Place all the ingredients in a saucepan; bring to the boil, stirring constantly, and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
