Fresh Pineapple Sauce

Put peeled and cored fresh pineapple through the coarse blade of the food chopper.
Measure and add about 1 cup sugar to each 3 cups of fruit and juice (this will vary with sweetness of pineapple, so taste and add more sugar if needed).
Stir.
Let stand at room temperature, stirring often, until all sugar is dissolved for about 1 hour.
Chill.
