Gooseberry Sauce

Ingredients
  Green gooseberries 1⁄2 Pound
  Water 2 Tablespoon
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Ground allspice 1 Pinch
Directions

Chop the gooseberries finely .
Put into a pan with the water and simmer for 5 minutes.
Cool slightly.
Mix with the butter, sugar and spice until smooth .
Return to a clean pan and reheat.
Serve with mackerel or other oily fish.
