Lemon Butter Sauce
|Soft butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Wafer||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Lemon, rind||1 Teaspoon, grated (lemon)|
|Lemon juice||3 Tablespoon|
|Cardamom||1⁄4 Teaspoon, ground|
Cream butter and sugar together in top of double boiler.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in water.
Set over simmering water and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture coats a metal spoon like a thin custard, about 15 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
