Smelts In Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients
  Smelts 1 Pound (fresh or frozen)
  Tomato sauce 1 Ounce, can
  Onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  Brown sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Vinegar 2 Tablespoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoon
  Water 1 Tablespoon
  Prepared mustard 2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

Thaw frozen smelts; clean, rinse and wipe dry.
Combine all ingredients except smelts.
Marinate smelts in tomato mixture, covered, in refrigerator several hours.
In large skillet bring smelts and tomato mixture to boiling.
Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, till fish are done, 8 to 10 minutes.
