Old-fashioned Fruit Sauce

Ingredients
  Ripe red tomatoes 4 Pound
  Peaches 6
  Pears 6
  Apples 6
  Onions 6 Large
  Sweet red peppers 3
  Celery stalks 6
  Vinegar 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Brown sugar/White sugar 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Salt 2 Tablespoon
  Mixed pickling spice 3 Ounce
Directions

Peel and chop the tomatoes and peaches.
Core and chop pears and apples without peeling.
Dice onions, peppers and celery.
Mix together in a large kettle with remaining ingredients.
Simmer uncovered until thick, stirring often to prevent sticking.
Cooking time will depend on the juiciness of the fruits, but allow about 1 1/2-2 hours.
Discard the bag.
Ladle into hot sterilized jars, and seal.
Makes about 8 (16-ounce) jars.
