|Sour cherries||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Almond essence||1 Teaspoon|
Drain cherries, reserving syrup.
Mix sugar, salt and cornstarch in small saucepan.
Stir in reserved cherry syrup; cook over low heat until thickened and clear.
Add cherries and almond flavoring; mix well.
Cook only until cherries are heated through.
Serve over ham.
