Real Red Catsup
|Tomato juice||2 Gallon|
|Salt||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vinegar||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Cloves oil||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Cinnamon oil||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||8 Cup (128 tbs)|
1)In a large kettle, add tomato juice, salt, onions, vinegar, oil of cloves and oil of cinnamon.
2)Bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and let it simmer until reduced by 1/3.
3)In a bowl, mix sugar and cornstarch and add into catsup.
4)Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
5)Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
6)Use the tomato catsup and when needed.
