Hot Vanilla Sauce
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||4 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1 Dash|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Half and half||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract/Rum extract||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Combine sugar, flour and nutmeg in medium bowl.
Stir in 1/4 cup of the milk until smooth.
Stir in remaining milk and half-and-half.
Microwave at HIGH (100%) until thickened, 5 to 7 minutes, stirring 2 or 3 times.
Stir in vanilla.
Serve over cake or fruit, if desired.
