Pour Custard Sauce
|Milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
1. Heat milk in top of double boiler, over direct heat, until tiny bubbles appear around edge of pan.
2. Beat yolks, sugar, and salt to mix well and then slowly pour hot milk into egg mixture, beating constantly. Return mixture to double-boiler top; place over hot, not boiling, water.
3. Cook, stirring constantly, until thin coating forms on metal spoon. This will take 8 to 10 minutes.
4. Pour custard immediately into bowl; place sheet of waxed paper directly on surface. Set bowl in cold water, to cool. Stir in vanilla and set aside to chill.
5. Serve chilled
