Subtly Citrus Barbecue Sauce
|White onion||1 , minced|
|Red chili powder||1 Tablespoon|
|Red pepper flakes||1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Ancho chili||1 , seeded, finely chopped|
|Vegetable oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Orange juice/Tangerine juice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Lime juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Cilantro||1 Tablespoon, chopped|
1) In the oil, cook the onion red onion chili powder, red pepper flakes and ancho chili, frequently stirring, till the onion has tendered. This takes about 5 minutes.
2) Stir in all the remaining ingredients.
3) Heat the mixture to boil.
4) Reduce the heat to low and gently simmer, uncovered, for about 10 minutes, occasionally stirring.
5) Serve as preferred.
