Butterscotch Sauce

Ingredients
  Granulated sugar 6 Tablespoon
  Arrowroot 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Unsalted butter 2 Tablespoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1 Mix arrowroot with 4 tablespoons of water.
2 Cut butter into cubes.
3 Boil a cup of water

MAKING
4 In a heavy bottomed pan heat the sugar slowly until it dissolves.
5 Cook on high flame to caramalize the sugar to a golden brown syrup.
6 Remove the pan from the flame and add 6 tablespoons of boiling water without stirring, and then return the pan to the heat.
7 Simmer the caramel for a few minutes stirring continuously , until dissolved completely.
8 Stir the dissolved arrowroot in to the caramel.
9 Bring the caramel to a boil cooking gradually on low flame.
10 Add the butter cubes in to the caramel stirring continuously and cook until the sauce is thick and clear
.
SERVING
11 Serve warm with either icecream or baked apples.

TIP
Stir the caramel continuously while cooking to prevent the sauce from burning.
