|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
1. In a large heavy skillet, pour in the sugar and heat over low heat while stirring, until melted and light golden- brown. Remove from heat.
2. Very gently pour in 1 cup hot water and increase heat till boiling. Reduce heat, and simmer until it thickens slightly or reaches 228F on candy thermometer.
3. Remove from heat. Add butter, salt, and vanilla and mix well.
4. Serve cold
