Sweet Sour Sauce

Ingredients
  Water/Pineapple juice / a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of water and beef / chicken broth 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cider vinegar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Soy sauce 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Firmly packed light brown sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Grated fresh ginger root/1/8 teaspoon powdered ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Garlic 1⁄2 Clove (2.5 gm), peeled and crushed
  Cornstarch 2 Tablespoon, blended with 2 tablespoons cold water
  Water 2 Tablespoon, blended with cornstarch
Directions

MAKING
1. In a saucepan, heat together all the ingredients except cornstarch paste
2. When it begins to steam, mix in the cornstarch paste and cook until it turns thick and clear
3. Reduce the heat, put the lid on and simmer for five minutes

SERVING
4. Goes well with roast pork, broiled shrimp, Chinese-style vegetables and spareribs
