Easy Peppermint Sauce
|Red striped peppermint candies/2 cups coarsely crushed peppermint sticks||1⁄2 Pound|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Heat candy and water in a heavy saucepan over moderate heat, stirring often until candy begins to dissolve, then boil slowly, uncovered, until completely dissolved, stirring now and then.
Add sugar and heat and stir 2-3 minutes.
Cool and serve over ice cream.
