|Milk or water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Vanilla||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Mix cornstarch and sugar in a heavy saucepan, gradually add water, and heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 2-3 minutes, stirring now and then.
Add butter, vanilla, and nutmeg and stir until butter melts and is blended.
