Simple Cherry Sauce

Ingredients
  Sweet cherries 1 Pound, pitted
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  White corn syrup/Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon
  Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
Directions

1. Place the cherries, one-quarter cup of the water and the syrup in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
2. Blend the cornstarch with the remaining water and add, stirring, to the cherries. Cook, stirring, until clear or about one minute.
3. Add lemon juice and kirsch to taste.
