Apple And Cranberry Sauce
|Tart cooking apples||1 1⁄2 Pound|
|Water||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
Peel, core and slice apples.
Pick over cranberries, discarding soft ones; wash and put into 3-quart saucepan with apples.
Add water, cover tightly, and cook until both fruits are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
Shake pan occasionally to prevent sticking.
Add sugar, stir in very gently, and cook 2 or 3 minutes longer or until juice forms a syrup.
Remove from heat, chill before serving.
