Brandy Sauce

This short video shows you just how easy it is to make brandy sauce - always a favorite around Christmas time but can be enjoyed at any time. This brandy sauce is from American cuisine and can be prepared by boiling.
Ingredients
  Butter 20 Gram
  Plain flour 20 Gram
  Full fat milk 200 Milliliter
  Caster sugar 20 Gram
  Double cream 50 Milliliter
  Brandy 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Pour the milk into a saucepan and add the sugar.
Place over a low heat to dissolve the sugar.
Put the butter into another saucepan and place over a medium heat to melt.
When melted, use a wooden spoon to stir in the flour to make a roux. Allow it to cook for a few moments to cook out the flour.
Slowly add the warm milk, stirring continuously until you have a smooth, slightly sweet white sauce.
Allow it to gently simmer for about 10 minutes without burning the base of the saucepan.
Remove from the heat and stir in the cream and brandy. Pass the sauce through a fine strainer into a clean bowl.
Cover and keep warm in a bain marie until required.
