Bask Barbecue Sauce
|Salad oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Finely chopped onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Tomato sauce||8 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||2 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Red wine vinegar||2 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Cracked pepper||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Heat oil in a 1 to 2-quart pan over medium heat.
Add onion and cook, stirring, until soft.
Stir in tomato sauce, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire, and pepper.
Bring to a boil; then reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until thickened (about 25 minutes).
Use to baste chicken during last 20 to 30 minutes of barbecuing.
