Baked Cauliflower With Cheese Sauce
|Cauliflower head||2 Pound (1 Large Head)|
|Boiling salted water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Green pepper||1 Small, seeded and chopped|
|Canned mushroom stems and pieces||2 Ounce (1 Small Can)|
|Butter/Margarine||3 Tablespoon, melted|
|Shredded sharp cheddar cheese||1⁄4 Pound (1 Cup)|
|White sauce||21 Ounce (2 Cans Of 10 1/2 Ounce Each)|
|Sesame seed||2 Tablespoon, toasted|
Separate cauliflower into flowerets and cook in boiling salted water about 10 minutes or until barely tender; drain.
Saute onion, green pepper, and mushrooms in melted butter until onion is clear.
Alternate layers of cooked cauliflower, sauteed vegetables, shredded cheese, and white sauce in a greased 2-quart casserole.
Sprinkle with sesame seed.
Bake, uncovered, in moderate oven (350°) for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
