Basil Flavored Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
  Tomato puree 12 Ounce
  Stock 4 Ounce (fresh or cubes)
  Onion 1
  Olive oil 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Basil 1 Tablespoon, chopped
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

In a saucepan fry 1 finely chopped onion in 1 tablespoon olive oil until slightly browned.
Add 12 oz. tomato puree, 4 oz. stock, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon sugar and 1 tablespoon chopped basil.
Cook over low heat 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
If it becomes too thick add a little more stock.
Correct seasoning.
Put aside until next evening.
Reheat over low heat.
Before the guests arrive cook 2 packets of frozen peas.
Reheat in melted butter, and serve with the pie.
