Basic Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
  Canned no salt added whole tomatoes 14 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Can)
  Canned tomato paste 6 Ounce (1 Can)
  Grated carrot 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Finely chopped onion 1 Tablespoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Olive oil 2 Teaspoon
  Packed brown sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Italian seasoning 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

In 2-quart casserole, combine all ingredients, stirring to break apart tomatoes.
Microwave, uncovered, at High for 10 to 15 minutes, or until sauce boils and flavors are blended, stirring 2 or 3 times.
Serve over hot cooked pasta or use in other recipes, if desired.
