Basic Brown Sauce

Ingredients
  Margarine 8 Teaspoon
  Flour 9 Teaspoon
  Tomato puree 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Instant beef broth and seasoning mix 2 Ounce (2 Packets, 1 Ounce Each)
  Dehydrated onion flakes 2 Teaspoon, reconstituted in 2 teaspoon water
  Water 2 Teaspoon (For Reconstituting Dehydrated Onion Flakes)
  Browning sauce 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Peppercorns 4
  Cloves 2
  Bay leaf 1 Small
  Thyme 1 Dash
  Garlic powder 1 Dash
Directions

Melt margarine in top of double boiler, over boiling water; using a wooden spoon or wire whisk, add flour, and cook 7 minutes, stirring frequently.
Stir in tomato puree.
Slowly add water, stirring constantly.
Add remaining ingredients; cover and cook 30 minutes or until thickened, stirring often.
Divide evenly.
