Spiced Bread Sauce
|Milk||1 Pint (600 Milliliter)|
|Onion||1 , peeled and studded with 4 cloves|
|Cloves||4 (For Studding Onion)|
|Grated nutmeg||1 Pinch|
|Ground mace||1 Pinch|
|Stale white bread crumbs||6 Ounce (175 Gram)|
|Butter/Margarine||2 Ounce (50 Gram)|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
|Bay leaves||2 (To Garnish)|
Place milk, onion, bay leaves, nutmeg and mace in a pan.
Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 30 mins.
Remove from heat, cool.
Strain, return to a clean pan and stir in breadcrumbs, fat and seasoning.
Cook over a low heat for 15 mins, stirring occasionally, until thick.
Garnish to serve.
