Thick And Hearty Tomato Sauce
|Olive oil||3 Tablespoon|
|Chopped onion||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Garlic||3 Clove (15 gm), minced|
|Canned italian plum tomatoes||28 Ounce, undrained and roughly cut in large chunks (1 Can)|
|Canned tomato paste||12 Ounce (2 Cans, 6 Ounce Each)|
|Water||2 Cup (32 tbs) (Add More Quantity, If Needed)|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
|Dried sweet basil||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dried oregano||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Heat oil in saucepan over medium heat; add onion and garlic and saute until golden.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered over low heat about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add more water if necessary, but remember—this sauce should be thick.
