Pepper Flavored Bread Sauce
|White breadcrumbs||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Bay leaf||1 Small|
|Milk||1 Pint (2 Cups)|
|Butter||1 Teaspoon (A Knob Of)|
Peel the onion and stick the cloves into it, then put into a saucepan with the milk, mace, bay leaf and peppercorns.
Bring to the boil and then draw aside and let it infuse for about 30 minutes.
Strain the milk and then add the breadcrumbs.
Stir gently to let the breadcrumbs absorb the milk, then bring gently to the boil.
Season to taste and finally add the knob of butter and the cream.
