Cabbage With Bacon And Cheese Sauce

Ingredients
  Bacon 1⁄2 Pound
  Bacon fat 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  All purpose flour 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Milk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Cheddar cheese 1⁄4 Pound, shredded
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Cabbage head 1 Medium, cut into wedges
  Croutons 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Cook bacon, drain, and keep warm.
Prepare a white sauce with bacon fat, flour, and milk.
When thickened, stir in cheese and add salt and pepper to taste.
Cook cabbage in small amount of boiling salted water until tender, about 7 minutes.
Drain and put on hot platter.
Top with cheese sauce and garnish with bacon.
Sprinkle with croutons.
