Mock Melba Sauce

Ingredients
  Arrowroot 1⁄2 Ounce
  Water 1⁄2 Pint
  Lemon juice 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Blend the arrowroot with a little of the water.
Boil remaining water with the jam and lemon juice.
Strain it on to the blended mixture, return to the pan and boil up, stirring all the time.
Cool before using.
