|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Rum/Brandy, or 1 teaspoon vanilla||2 Tablespoon|
In 2-cup measure, combine sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg; stir in water and butter.
Cook, uncovered, 3 minutes or until mixture boils and thickens, stirring occasionally.
Stir in flavoring.
