Amaretto Plum Sauce
|Fresh plums||1 Pound, pitted and coarsely chopped|
|Unsweetened orange juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Chopped almonds||3 Tablespoon, toasted|
|Angel food cake/Ice milk, / non fat frozen yogurt||1 (for serving)|
Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes or until plums are tender.
Place plum mixture in container of an electric blender or food processor; cover and process until smooth, stopping once to scrape down sides.
Stir in chopped almonds.
Cover and chill thoroughly.
Serve sauce over angel food cake, ice milk, or non fat frozen yogurt.
