Sherried Date Sauce

|Pitted dates||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Light corn syrup||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sherry||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped preserved ginger||1 Tablespoon|
|Shredded orange peel||1 Teaspoon, shredded|
Cut dates length wise in quarters.
Combine with remaining ingredients; cover and refrigerate at least 24 hours.
