Very Easy Custard Sauce
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
1. Combine the sugar, flour, and salt in the top of a double boiler. Add eggs and egg yolk; mix thoroughly. Blend in 1/4 cup of the milk.
2. Heat remaining milk just until hot. Blend into mixture in double-boiler top. Stirring constantly, cook over simmering water until mixture coats a metal spoon (about 10 minutes).
3. Remove from water; stir in vanilla extract. Cool; chill at least 3 hours.
