Basic Browning Sauce
|Unsulphured molasses||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dark corn syrup||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (Karo)|
|Soy sauce||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Caramel color||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Monosodium glutamate||1⁄2 Teaspoon (Mug)|
Combine ingredients in a 2 cup glass measure and cook 2 minutes on high, or until mixture boils.
Stir and cook 2 more minutes on high.
Pour into a jar and refrigerate covered.
(Sauce will keep for weeks.) Rub or baste on meats, poultry and game. (Use during the final 15 minutes of cooking on large poultry.
Sauce imparts a delicate flavor as well as aids in browning.)
