Zucchini With Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
  Extra virgin olive oil 2 Tablespoon
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm), minced
  Onion 1 , minced
  Ground beef 1⁄2 Pound
  Canned tomatoes with juice 28 Ounce (1 Can)
  Canned tomato paste 6 Ounce (1 Can)
  Bay leaves 2
  Dried basil 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried oregano 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Freshly ground pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Zucchini 3 Small (Approximately 4 Inches Long)
  Garlic powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Extra virgin olive oil 1 Tablespoon (For Brushing)

Directions

To prepare tomato sauce, heat olive oil in frying pan over medium heat.
Saute garlic and onion for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Mix in ground beef and cook until meat is just browned, about 10 minutes.
Add tomatoes and juice, tomato paste, bay leaves, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Simmer uncovered until sauce thickens, about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Discard bay leaves.
Cut zucchini in half horizontally.
To prepare zucchini, mix garlic powder, salt, and pepper into olive oil.
Brush zucchini with flavored oil.
Preheat stovetop grill.
Cook zucchini, cut side down, over medium heat for 1 1/2 minutes.
Brush zucchini again with flavored oil and turn.
Grill for 1 to 2 minutes or until zucchini are cooked to taste.
Zucchini should be fork tender.
Remove zucchini to serving plate.
Cover with tomato sauce.
