Pork In Sweet Sour Sauce
|Lean boneless pork||1 1⁄2 Pound, cut into 1/2 inch cubes|
|Cooking oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Chopped onions||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Canned pineapple chunks||15 1⁄4 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Ground ginger||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Soy sauce||3 Tablespoon|
|Green pepper||1 Medium, cut into 1 inch squares|
|Hot cooked rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
In large skillet brown the pork, half at a time, in hot oil.
Return all meat to skillet.
Add onion and 1/4 cup water.
Cover and simmer for 30 to 35 minutes.
Drain pineapple, reserving juice.
Combine brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Blend in reserved pineapple juice, vinegar, and soy sauce.
Add to pork mixture along with green pepper; cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
Stir in pineapple; heat through.
