1. Preheat broiler if manufacturer directs. Grease rack in broiling pan. Place cod steaks on rack; broil 5 to 7 minutes without turning, until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
2. Meanwhile, in small bowl, mix mayonnaise, tarragon, lemon juice, and salt.
3. When fish is done, spread mayonnaise mixture on fish; sprinkle with bread crumbs. Broil fish about 30 seconds longer or until topping is lightly browned.
