Creamy Caramel Sauce
|Granulated sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Whipping cream||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Light brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), packed|
|Corn syrup||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
Place granulated sugar, cream, brown sugar and corn syrup in heavy 2-quart saucepan.
Stir over low heat until mixture boils.
Carefully clip candy thermometer to side of pan (do not let bulb touch bottom of pan).
Cook, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes or until thermometer registers 238°F Immediately remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla.
Cool about 15 minutes.
