Basic Butterscotch Sauce

Ingredients
  Packed light brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Half and half 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Salt 1 Dash
Directions

1. Put brown sugar, butter, half-and-half and salt into a 1-quart glass measuring pitcher. Cook uncovered in microwave oven 2 minutes at High, or until sugar dissolves and butter melts. Stir until blended. Cook uncovered 45 seconds at High, or until sauce comes to boiling.
