Shark S Fin N Ham Sauce

Ingredients
  Sharks fin 1 Pound
  Smoked ham 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Stock 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sherry 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Soy sauce 1 Tablespoon
Directions

1. Soak and process shark's fin.
2. Chop smoked ham coarsely; then combine with stock, water, soy sauce and sherry. Bring to a boil; then simmer, covered, 50 minutes.
3. Add sugar and simmer, covered, 10 minutes more.
4. Strain broth into another pan, discarding ham. Add shark s fin and simmer, covered, 10 minutes. Stir in remaining soy sauce and serve at once.

At a time when conservationists all over the world including china are repeatedly making consumers aware of the hugely damaging effects of killing sharks for the sake of shark fin soup, it is shocking to see this recipe here... It is rather unsettling!!
