Traditional Custard Sauce

Ingredients
  Egg/2 egg yolks, slightly beaten 1 (Whole)
  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), scalded
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Dash
  Vanilla/Other flavorings such as nutmeg / sherry / rum 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

Blend egg, milk, sugar, and salt in the top of a double boiler.
Cook, stirring constantly, over hot water until the custard coats a metal spoon.
Remove from heat and flavor with vanilla or other flavoring.
Cool quickly.
