Tomato Meat Sauce
|Olive oil||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Beef chuck||1⁄2 Pound|
|Pork shoulder||1⁄2 Pound|
|Canned tomatoes paste with liquid||7 Cup (112 tbs), sieved|
|Tomato paste||6 Ounce (1 Can)|
1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepot. Add onion and cook until lightly browned. Add the meat and brown on all sides. Stir in tomatoes and salt. Add bay leaf. Cover and simmer about 2 1/2 hours.
2. Stir tomato paste into sauce. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 2 hours, or until thickened. If sauce becomes too thick, add 1/2 cup water.
3. Remove meat and bay leaf from sauce
