Chocolate Cream Pie With Cherry Sauce

Ingredients
  Whipping cream 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Unsweetened chocolate square 3 , coarsely chopped (3 X 1 Ounce Squares)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Cornstarch 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Eggs 2 , beaten
  Vanilla extract 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Unbaked 9 inch pastry shell 1
  Cherry sauce 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Combine whipping cream and chocolate in a heavy saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth.
Set aside.
Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium bowl, mixing well; stir in eggs, vanilla, and chocolate mixture.
Pour into pastry shell.
Bake at 400° for 35 minutes.
Cool completely on a wire rack.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
