This is a simple homemade roux recipe that can be used for soups, gumbos and gravy for thickening. Made with all purpose flour, this flavorless roux is suited for any dish of choice and is quite the dish-saver!
  Cooking oil 6 Cup (96 tbs)
  All purpose flour 6 Cup (96 tbs)

Make up a supply and keep in freezer.
Put cooking oil and flour in large skillet over low heat.
Stir continuously until dark brown.
Put in 1 cup size plastic cups with lid, filling up to 3/8 inch of top; put on lid.
Store in freezer.
Will keep a long time.
When ready to use thaw and warm to liquify over low heat.
For gumbo use 2 cups and for pot roast use one cup.
