Maple Pecan Sauce

Ingredients
  Maple syrup 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Lemon peel strip 2
  Cinnamon stick 1 , crushed and broken into pieces
  Whole cloves 3
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Chopped pecans 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
Directions

Combine the syrup, lemon peel, cinnamon, and cloves in a saucepan, simmer gently for 5 minutes, add vanilla, and let cool.
Strain the syrup into a container, stir in the nuts and store, covered, in the refrigerator.
